We take great pride in building thoughtful, human-centered processes: from how we approach innovation to how we collaborate as a team. Our recruitment process is no different.

We know that applying for a new job comes with a mix of excitement and uncertainty. What happens after you hit "apply"? Who will you meet? What will the interviews be like? When will you hear back?

In the spirit of transparency and care, we’re sharing what our hiring journey looks like—from application to offer acceptance. Our goal is to give every candidate a clear picture of what to expect, and reduce the stress that often comes with ambiguity.

Why we’re sharing this

We want candidates to feel informed, respected, and empowered throughout their journey with us. Making the hiring process more transparent helps build trust, ensures alignment, and reinforces one of our core beliefs: clarity is kind.

Whether you’re considering applying or are already deep in the process, we hope this gives you a helpful window into how we work—and why we do things the way we do.

Step-by-step through our process

1. Application review

Once you submit your application, our team carefully reviews it—yes, an actual person reads every single application! We look at your background, motivations, and alignment with the role and our culture. If we think there could be a fit, we’ll reach out to set up a first conversation.

We receive thousands of applications every month, and while we review each one with care, it’s not always possible for us to respond to everyone individually. If you don’t hear back from us, please know that your profile may still be saved for future opportunities. Don’t hesitate to apply again, we always appreciate your interest in Osedea.

2. Initial call

This first conversation (usually with someone who does the role you are applying for) is a chance to get to know each other. We’ll talk about your interests, your experience, and what you’re looking for next. It’s also your opportunity to ask questions and learn more about who we are.

3. Technical challenge or case study (if applicable)

Depending on the role, we may include a technical assessment or case study. This helps us understand how you think and approach problem-solving, not just what you know.

We aim to make these exercises fair, relevant, and respectful of your time. We’re not looking for perfection, we’re looking for how you learn and communicate.

4. Interviews

You’ll meet a few people from our team, often across different disciplines, to discuss your skills, past projects, and working style. We also explore culture fit and values alignment. These conversations are meant to be collaborative and conversational, not intimidating. We’re not just assessing whether you're right for Osedea—we also want you to assess whether Osedea feels right for you.

For technical roles, we include a technical interview as part of the process. The goal isn’t to quiz you on obscure concepts or put you on the spot, it’s to understand your problem-solving approach, how you communicate your thinking, and how you learn. We care as much about your process as we do about the outcome.

All of our interviews are held in person at our office. We find that spending time together in the same space offers a more complete picture, for both you and for us. It allows you to meet more of the team, experience the vibe of our workspace, and get a real sense of what it’s like to be at Osedea.

5. Offer or closure

After the interviews, our team comes together to reflect and share feedback. If we feel we’ve found a strong match, we’ll move forward with an offer.

If that’s not the case, we’ll also let you know, we believe closure is important. We aim to follow up with all final-stage candidates within a week of their last interview, but occasionally it can take a little longer. Either way, we appreciate your time and the energy you’ve invested in getting to know us.

Our offer philosophy: why we don’t negotiate

At Osedea, we take a unique approach to offers: we don’t negotiate them.

We know this may be surprising, especially in industries where negotiating is expected. But here’s our reasoning: we believe that everyone should be offered the same role, the same opportunity, and the same compensation for the same level of experience—regardless of how comfortable or confident they are at negotiating.

This approach helps us remove bias, level the playing field, and focus on building trust from the start. When we make you an offer, it’s our best offer, thoughtfully constructed based on market data, internal equity, what we offer as a work environment as a whole  and the scope of the role. You can feel confident that you’re being treated fairly, transparently, and consistently with others in similar roles.

We also know that no process is perfect. While we work hard to make fair, data-informed compensation decisions from the start, we’re human, and sometimes we might get it wrong. If you’re exceeding expectations in your role, we’re committed to recognizing and adjusting that.

We have a structured review process twice a year, which means you won’t have to wait a full year to revisit compensation. Our goal is to ensure that your impact is reflected fairly and that we continue building trust over time, not just at the offer stage.

A few tips for candidates

We often get asked, “What makes someone stand out?”

Here’s what we look for:

  • Curiosity and a genuine interest in what we do
  • Problem-solving mindset
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Alignment with our values

We also appreciate when candidates are honest about what they’re looking for. If something isn’t aligned, we’ll tell you—and we appreciate the same in return.

We’re here to support you

We know job hunting can be overwhelming. Our team is here to guide you through the process with clarity, respect, and empathy. Whether you’re selected or not, we aim to give you a thoughtful experience, and in some cases, personalized feedback.
