ConFoo 2025: a powerful week for innovation and recognition

ConFoo Montreal is more than just a developer conference. With 190 talks from international experts, it’s a hub for cutting-edge tech, knowledge sharing, and practical solutions. This year, our team took the stage with four impactful presentations—and left with two major awards.

Our talks: pushing the boundaries of AI and development

Carl Lapierre tackled two of the most exciting challenges in AI today. In Exploring Advanced Patterns in RAG, he broke down how retrieval-augmented generation enhances generative AI by improving accuracy and context. His second talk, Building Super Agents with Micro-Agent Orchestration, explored how AI agents can collaborate effectively to solve complex problems, leveraging planning, reflection, and self-critique.

Philippe Trépanier shared insights on the often-overlooked early phase of development in Pre-Development Champion: Making Friends with Everyone. He discussed strategies for accurate project estimation, stakeholder alignment, and setting up teams for success before the first line of code is written.

Armand Brière addressed one of the most pressing issues in AI moderation with AI-Powered Clean Talk: Advanced Profanity Detection Patterns. He explored how AI can go beyond simple keyword filters to understand slang, context, and evolving speech patterns, making online interactions safer and more inclusive.

Two big wins at the ConFoo Developer Awards

This year’s ConFoo introduced the Developer Awards to celebrate those driving innovation and knowledge-sharing in the industry. We’re beyond proud that our team brought home two awards:

• Carl Lapierre – Speaker of the Year: Recognized for his impactful contributions and deep expertise in AI.
• Armand Brière – AI Innovator of the Year: Celebrated for pushing the boundaries of AI-powered moderation and real-time speech analysis.
